Meet Summer Marik

As a Registered Dietitian and Certified Personal Trainer, I have spent over a decade helping people improve their health through thoughtful, personalized nutrition and strength training.

My work combines clinical nutrition expertise with years of hands-on coaching, enabling me to support clients with a wide range of goals—from metabolic health and weight management to performance and overall well-being.

 

My approach reflects a rare combination of clinical nutrition training and practical coaching experience.
 

From Performance to Coaching

I began my career in fitness at the age of 19 and later spent several years performing professionally as an aerialist with Cirque du Soleil. After retiring from performing in 2013, I transitioned into coaching and teaching, bringing my understanding of movement, discipline, and performance into the world of health and fitness.
 

After Cirque, I spent time living in Australia where I coached personal training, boot camp classes, and circus skills before eventually returning to California.
 

Experience in Fitness & Wellness

Upon returning to the Bay Area, I continued working as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor, managing an aerial arts studio in San Francisco before moving into corporate wellness. In 2016, I became the National Group Fitness Manager at LinkedIn, where I led group fitness programming and helped develop wellness initiatives for employees across multiple offices.
 

Expanding into Nutrition

Over time, I became increasingly interested in the role nutrition plays in long-term health and performance. In 2019, I returned to school to pursue my training as a Registered Dietitian, allowing me to combine my background in fitness with evidence-based nutrition.
 

Today, I work with clients of all ages and across a wide range of goals, including metabolic health, sustainable weight loss, hormone-related changes, sports performance, and rebuilding a healthy relationship with food. Some clients work with me for nutrition coaching, some for personal training, and others for a combination of both.
 

Beyond Client Work

I am also a co-host of the Nutrition Digest Podcast, where I and two fellow Registered Dietitians discuss evidence-based nutrition, emerging research, and practical strategies for improving health.

My work focuses on helping clients build strength, improve metabolic health, and develop sustainable habits that support long-term wellbeing.
 

Outside of Work

Outside of my professional work, I enjoy spending time along the coast, cooking and sharing good food with friends, traveling, and staying active outdoors. I also spend plenty of time with my two dachshunds, who are never far from the action.
